Major General George Henry Thomas is an equestrian statue of George Henry Thomas, in Washington, D.C. It is located at Thomas Circle, at the intersection of 14th Street, and Massachusetts Avenue.[1]
It was sculpted by John Quincy Adams Ward. It was dedicated on November 19, 1879 by Senator Stanley Matthews.[2] The statue is a contributing monument to the Civil War Monuments in Washington, DC, of the National Register of Historic Places.
The inscription reads:
